We are a newly founded Community Interest Company based in Harlow. In November we will be launching our ASD Parenting Group and would like to offer you an opportunity to book these very limited spaces.

 

The group was initially run by the Company Director at the local EWMHS (CAMHS) over the five years of leading the Neurodevelopmental Pathway. These groups were incredibly successful in terms of engagement and positive outcomes for both parents and children with a presentation of ASD co-morbid with mental health. The treatment includes information about tertiary services, systems and processes as well as an understanding of the diagnostic research and literature. The additional benefit was that they provided an ongoing support network for the parents.

 

The group runs on weekly themes including anger and violence; sleep and rumination; school, EHCP plans and the JADES pathway; parental and sibling relationships; emotional regulation; sensory issues and eating; and Theory of Mind including empathy and understanding.

 

The group uses models from psychodynamic psychotherapy, DBT, MBT and CBT to support parents and caregivers to support their children. The children can be any age from babies, primary school, secondary school and young adult. The recruitment process and initial session will inform the facilitator of who is in attendance and the groups will be tailored towards the needs of the participants. 

 

Due to such limited spaces, we do ask that the attendees can commit to all sessions if possible. Payment for all sessions is required in advance. Should a session need to be missed we would encourage the other parent to attend where possible as it is the child that is being held in mind – and each session is so full, informative and valuable!

 

Cost includes weekly handouts, tea, coffee & biscuits

Payment is available vis PayPal or bank transfer. 

Parking is available for free at Sainsburys which is a 6-minute walk or in the paid car park directly outside.
